An International Culinary Exchange Celebrating the Art and Flavors of Mexico City
Join us for an extraordinary night celebrating the culinary capital of Latin America where multiple cuisines meet, interact and combine. CALA Alliance's annual benefit dinner, Sabor, is a one-night-only curated five-course meal inspired by a specific Latin American region's ingredients and culinary traditions. Every year, CALA partners with a chef from a different part of the Americas to celebrate the flavors of their hometown, which nourish both the body and the soul. This unique cultural exchange offers opportunities to learn and explore diverse cuisines, broadening understanding and appreciation for different cultures. The Sabor guest list comprises state leaders, local businesses, politicians, nonprofits, and other community sectors. This year Sabor's one-night-only menu will be crafted by Global Michelin Star Chef Martha Ortiz, the owner of multiple establishments, including Dulce Patria, Las Alcobas Hotel in CDMX, and Ella Canta within InterContinental London Park Lane.
CALA Alliance (Celebración Artística de las Américas) is a Phoenix-based Latinx arts organization. We collaborate with artists and community partners to nurture artistic talent, focusing on artists from the Latin American diaspora. Our signature event, Sabor, is a unique culinary shared experience that encourages cultural understanding with residents across the Valley. The much-anticipated annual art gala and culinary experience will make its return on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Warehouse 215 for a one-night-only menu inspired by regional ingredients and culinary traditions of Mexico City, Mexico.
Impact: Sabor promises a night filled with artistic energy and community spirit.Your contribution will help support 2025 Residencias Artísticas residency program, providing free workspace and curatorial support to local Latinx talent. Funds will also support six How I Became an Artísta art labs - community centered cultural literacy workshops across Central and West Phoenix.
At Sabor, you'll have the unique opportunity to connect with leaders from the Latinx, artistic, business, political, nonprofit, and community sectors. It's a chance to expand your network, forge new partnerships, and be part of a vibrant arts community. All this, while enjoying a five-course dinner designed by Chef Martha Ortiz.
